Emily started dancing at age 5 at Spencer Dance Studio in styles of jazz, tap, modern and contemporary. Being part of showteam from a young age, Emily has competed in many competitions, shows, fetes and eisteddfods over the years, where she has achieved a number of first places in a range of styles.
In 2008, Emily moved to Southwood Performing Arts where she learnt Jazz, Hip Hop and Lyrical under Tali Whitton. From there. Emily then moved to Avenue T Dance Centre in 2009 and continued training in a number of styles as well as being part of Showteam and Elite.
From her time at Avenue T, Emily was able to perform at a number of Eisteddfods including Showcase in 2009 and 2010, successfully placing for a number of Showteam routines.
It was at Avenue T, that Emily got to audition for Fast and Fresh as a member of Showteam, perform at the Sydney Royal Easter Show and support The Next Step Tour at Castle Hill RSL with the Elite team.
In 2010, Emily studied HSC Dance at Mount St Benedict College, majoring in Performance along with learning about the composition and appreciation of dance.
In 2011, Emily completed a certificate VI in Performing Arts at Urban Dance Centre where she picked up singing, acting, acrobatics and break dancing to add to her training.
During this time, Emily got the opportunity to participate in a mock audition for Kelley Abbey’s version of the musical ‘Fame’ and danced in many workshops taught by international choreographers such as, Adam Parson, Malaya, Michael Schwandt, and Gil Duldulao.
Emily performed in two Theatre Costume Showcases for Sydney Institute Tafe, Ultimo, where herself and fellow students at Urban Dance Centre modelled costumes and major works of the Tafe students.
Emily was also part of a music video choreographed by Juliette Verne to showcase the fulltime students. Among these, Emily performed in Urban Dance Centres Mid Year and End of Year Showcases, UDC Cabaret Night and competed at the Sydney Eisteddfod.
During her time at UDC, Emily taught Junior Hip Hop at Avenue T and continues to teach various styles with the Intermediate students today.
Along with this, Emily is currently studying a Bachelor of Education (Primary) at ACU.
